Review: American Express Business Platinum – The Card That Lives Better Than You

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5 – deducted one star because it makes me feel poor)

Ah, the American Express Business Platinum Card—not just a piece of metal, but a VIP pass to a world of unnecessary luxuries you didn’t know you needed. This card doesn’t just sit in your wallet; it lounges there in first class, sipping a complimentary mimosa while you hustle to justify the $695 annual fee.

The Perks (or, Why This Card Deserves a Better LinkedIn Profile Than You)

Airport Lounge Access: I may be crammed into seat 36B, but my Amex card is upstairs enjoying truffle mac & cheese at the Centurion Lounge, probably judging me.
$200 Airline Fee Credit: Because nothing says “business expense” like getting reimbursed for your checked bags and overpriced in-flight WiFi.
$400 in Dell Credits: Finally, a reason to buy that Bluetooth toaster or a second monitor you don’t need.
$360 Indeed Credit: Use it to build or grow your team.
$150 Adobe Credit: Because if you’re not Photoshopping your expenses, are you even running a business?
Hilton & Marriott Gold Status: This card makes sure that even if you don’t feel important, at least the hotel front desk will pretend you are.
$200 Hilton Credit: Get $50 in statement credit each quarter for your purchases at a Hilton property.
5X Points on Flights & Prepaid Hotels: This card basically forces you to travel just to keep up with its own perks.

The Downsides (Because No One Likes a Perfect Overachiever):

$695 Annual Fee: At this price, I expected the card to at least call me “boss” and send encouraging emails.
Not Accepted Everywhere: Some places will still reject it, leaving you awkwardly fishing for your backup “peasant” card.
You Will Become That Person: Once you hear the satisfying thunk of this metal card hitting the counter, your personality will shift. You will suddenly feel superior. It’s inevitable.

Final Verdict:

If you travel often, love luxury perks, and enjoy convincing yourself that “credits” are the same as real money, this card is a must-have. If not, well… at least it makes a fantastic fidget toy while you cry over your expenses.
